Today we watched our niece Katie's last soccer game of the year. Here is Luis doing some coaching during intermission:Each team had three players at a time, and then switched players a few times. The entertaining thing about 4 year-olds is that they don't have a whole lot of game strategy. Here Katie is making a beautiful in-bounding throw in the opposite direction of her two teammates (see background).
Overall, Katie preferred hanging out with her dad to laying soccer. I have to admit I thought she was being a bit of a whimp until I witnessed one of the more aggressive boys do a header into the metal-framed goal. He was racing an opponent to the goal, lost his footing, and fell HARD into the upright. I really wanted to take a picture of his bloody face, but Karen wouldn't let me.
After we got home, we took a nap, worked on the sprinkler and garden projects, and watched Betty White talk about her "muffin" on SNL. Tomorrow: Mother's Day #1 for Karen.
