This weekend we went to Riggins for a family camping trip in hopes of reliving the salmon fishing glory I enjoyed last weekend. We never actually saw a salmon, and it rained all day on Saturday, but we still had a good time. Here is an elk that was hanging out across the river from my fishing spot.We found a nice place to camp right next to the main Salmon River. Those of you who have been to Riggins during salmon season know that it is impossible to find a secluded camping spot. I don't think our neighbors were too happy when we pulled in with a crying baby, but she settled down pretty quickly. On the way home we decided to hunt for mushrooms. We managed to find enough for a couple of meals, and it was nice to hike around in the woods. Here are Karen and Elena showing off their bounty.
So, where's my share as a babysitting fee?
ReplyDeleteI LOVED these pictures! Especially the one with Karen and Elena and the cup of coffee. What a beautiful place to spend the weekend! I'm quite jealous!!
ReplyDeleteWe branded this weekend and Gene will still have to plant oats and alphafa. Maybe afterwards, we can go camping. See any good deals on tents lately? :) Thanks for sharing those pictures.

Mom, you're too predictable. We didn't find enough to share this time, but if you go to Council with Evelyn I can tell you where we found them.
