Happy Fall

This is a random collection of pictures over the last few weeks. The weather has taken a turn towards a cold spell, but before that the kids were enjoying their bikes outside. Marcus has decided that he like riding the trike. He pushes himself along the sidewalk.
We took the 4-wheelers out for a ride to Owyhee Reservoir. It was a perfect day to get out- right after the rain so the dust was settled and the day was warm and sunny.
Sprout decided to take a turn in the swather. I think she made it one pass before she fell asleep.
Sprout is showing off her farmer's market apron that we made. It was a fun craft and she's been pretending she has a stand at the farmer's market.

This is our random last few weeks.

Preschool

This week Sprout started her first day of Preschool. She's attended playschool for the last two years, but now she'll be going twice a week for instruction and structure. We thought she was going to have Miss Jan as her teacher, but there were some last minute switches and we have Miss Becca.
I had the opportunity to talk with a Miss Jan and a few of the other teachers at the open house. They were joking that Miss Becca better bring her A game because Elena will be sure to keep her on her toes. I see a lot of coffee cards in Miss Becca's future.
Zarek is also in Elena's class. Bev and Justin shared this picture of the kids as they were lining up outside the class. I didn't get any drop off pics as Marcus was keeping me busy. Elena seemed to enjoy her first day, especially the red water bottle that all of the kids got as a welcome to school gift.

Rain Dance

It's no secret that it's been an unusually dry spring and summer. It's been months since we've had any significant amount of rain. That changed earlier this week.
We were at my parents for dinner when the rain started coming down. Soon all the kids were running, laughing, and playing in the rain. They had a great time.
Barry took a couple of videos so hopefully we can load those soon.

Spirit of Boise

This weekend Barry was scouting for his deer hunt and the kids and I hung out. One of the things we did was go to the Spirit of Boise.
This meant getting up at 5:30 to be able to leave in time to see the balloons launch. We found a great spot in the park and watched the balloons inflate.
Because of unsafe weather conditions the balloons weren't able to launch. But the kids were able to get tethered rides in the balloons.
I was very surprised that Sprout decided to get inside. She didn't say much and all you could see were her sunglasses peeking over the edge. After the balloons, Luis treated us to breakfast.
