19 Months

Sprout is now 19 months old. She's starting to talk a bit more- more babbling than anything. She is learning a little bit of sign language and Barry taught her "earmuffs". She likes playing in the rocks and going up and down stairs.
On a side note, her cast comes off in two weeks. It's a good thing as she has now worn through the fiberglass to the liner in two spots. Thanks goodness for duct tape.

Morning Ride

We spent part of weekend on a horseback ride. I hate to admit how long it's been since we've been out, but let's just say this is Sprout's first long ride since being in her cast.
We went to Owyhees were we could fully enjoy the blooming sagebrush and seasonal allergies. Thank goodness for Zyrtec. Anyway, it was a great ride and the horses were awesome and Sprout seemed to enjoy herself. Hopefully we will be out again soon.

Another Day

Things have been fairly quiet in the Bean household, not that we are complaining. We spent the weekend with family from out of town and working on some household projects. Of course a little time watching football- I love to see Dallas lose.

Sprout has 3 more weeks until her cast is off. We continue to work on crafts on the days we are home. Today Sprout experienced markers. She doesn't believe in the conventional way of coloring, but prefers to color all over her hands and then use them to transfer the ink. So no, she isn't coming down with any rare skin conditions.

Broken Cast

Earlier this week, Sprout broke her cast. We have no idea how it happened, and we're certain it had nothing to do with her discovering the toy box (note that Sprout's toy box is located next to Dad's toy box). Every time she would find a "new" toy, she jumped up and down as much as a kid in a SPICA cast possibly can.Anyway, all is good and the fix was a simple office visit. She is now 2/3 of the way done with her 12-week cast experience. The first week of October is going to be very exciting at the Bean house!

We're Calling It

Karen worked me like a dog over Laboring Days Weekend. We are now declaring the basement officially finished, despite the fact that we have very little furniture and zero wall coverings. Congratulations Matt, now pick your retailer of choice (REI?).

Construction began 10 months ago. I'll walk you through the process... Which means this is going to be a really long post. We don't have a good picture of the utility room prior to destruction, but here we are ripping it apart. Here is John with a jackhammer in the stairway. The jackhammer was a common theme during this remodel project. Here is the utility room now.Stairway before.

Stairway in progress...Stairway after.Main room before.
More jackhammer time...Main room now.The "Man Room" with the furnace room exposed. Now it is known as Karen's workout room.I would like to thank everyone who helped out with this project. Some of the main contributors were John, Luis, Harold, Jesse, and Dustin.
