Hunting Season Comes to a Close

The 2015-16 hunting season, Mia's first, is in the books. She certainly knows what birds are now, but we have a long way to go before she will be a finished bird dog. We hunted chukars mostly, as well as some quail and a few pheasants. Here is a photo of the dogs after a successful chukar hunt.
On the last day of the season, Dustin and I left the old dogs home and took the pups. They did really well! Dustin's dog Whitten is Mia's littermate.
There is nothing better after a long hunt than to curl up in the sun and take a nap!
I also did an elk hunt with my dad at our cabin. It was the first time I have hunted at the cabin since we purchased it. I may have enjoyed the daily hot showers more than harvesting an elk!
