Going to the Zoo

Yesterday we had a fun outing to the zoo. Bev, Zarek, Katie, Elena, and I packed a lunch and loaded up yesterday morning to enjoy the warm weather and hopefully see a few of the animals.  This is the crew in the prarie dog tunnel.

Bev was a trooper and took the younger kids down the raft slide. I think they enjoyed this more than seeing the actual giraffes.
 Elena and I with "girfy".
Elena enjoyed playing with the penguin display that showed different types of penguins. This was the closest thing she got to a penguin, as the real ones were hiding out. You may notice that Elena is modeling a borrowed monkey backpack. The best thing about this is the monkey tail is a "leash". This was perfect for a toddler in a zoo. I think we'll have to get one.
It was a great trip and the kids seemed to have a good time. At the very least they were worn out and ready for a nap on the ride home.
