January=Welding Project Time

Karen and her dad, John, decided to start a winter welding project. Their goal: to build an arbor for a fence that we plan to build around the garden. Step 1: get some rusty horseshoes and square tubing.After some cutting and shaping, here is the layout.Here is Karen welding together the 'welcome' sign.
Here she is welding the top braces in place. Note that this is the same woman who won't climb a ladder to change a lightbulb or paint, yet she is balancing between the ladder and arbor.We haven't decided what kind of fence we are going to build yet, but we plan to get after it once the ground thaws out.

  1. Karen is amazing! Well, it’s pretty clear that she had quite an experience with it because she has good control of the welder. And the project isn’t for first timers, too; the welcome sign has a lot of curves and joints. That requires a degree of skill to be able to done properly. Nice job!
